    Event-triggered robust distributed state estimation for sensor networks with state-dependent noises

    This paper is concerned with the event-triggered distributed state estimation problem for a class of uncertain stochastic systems with state-dependent noises and randomly occurring uncertainties over sensor networks. An event-triggered communication scheme is proposed in order to determine whether the measurements on each sensor should be transmitted to the estimators or not. The norm-bounded uncertainty enters into the system in a random way. Through available output measurements from not only the individual sensor but also its neighbouring sensors, a sufficient condition is established for the desired distributed estimator to ensure that the estimation error dynamics are exponentially mean-square stable. These conditions are characterized in terms of the feasibility of a set of linear matrix inequalities, and then the explicit expression is given for the distributed estimator gains.     Receding horizon filtering for a class of discrete time-varying nonlinear systems with multiple missing measurements

    This paper is concerned with the receding horizon filtering problem for a class of discrete time-varying nonlinear systems with multiple missing measurements. The phenomenon of missing measurements occurs in a random way and the missing probability is governed by a set of stochastic variables obeying the given Bernoulli distribution. By exploiting the projection theory combined with stochastic analysis techniques, a Kalman-type receding horizon filter is put forward to facilitate the online applications. Furthermore, by utilizing the conditional expectation, a novel estimation scheme of state covariance matrices is proposed to guarantee the implementation of the filtering algorithm.     Robust set stabilization of Boolean control networks with impulsive effects

    This paper addresses the robust set stabilization problem of Boolean control networks (BCNs) with impulsive effects via the semi-tensor product method. Firstly, the closed-loop system consisting of a BCN with impulsive effects and a given state feedback control is converted into an algebraic form. Secondly, based on the algebraic form, some necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for the robust set stabilization of BCNs with impulsive effects under a given state feedback control and a free-form control sequence, respectively. Thirdly, as applications, some necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for robust partial stabilization and robust output tracking of BCNs with impulsive effects, respectively. The study of two illustrative examples shows that the obtained new results are effective

    Dynamic system with no equilibrium and its chaos anti-synchronization

    Recently, systems with chaos and the absence of equilibria have received a great deal of attention. In our work, a simple five-term system and its anti-synchronization are presented. It is special that the system has a hyperbolic sine nonlinearity and no equilibrium. Such a system generates chaotic behaviours, which are verified by phase portraits, positive Lyapunov exponent as well as an electronic circuit. Moreover, the system displays multistable characteristic when changing its initial conditions. By constructing an adaptive control, chaos anti-synchronization of the system with no equilibrium is obtained and illustrated via a numerical example

    Fast fixed-time synchronization of T–S fuzzy complex networks

    In this paper, fast fixed-time (FDT) synchronization of T–S fuzzy (TSF) complex networks (CNs) is considered. The given control schemes can make the CNs synchronize with the given isolated system more fleetly than the most of existing results. By constructing comparison system and applying new analytical techniques, sufficient conditions are established to derive fast FDT synchronization speedily. In order to give some comparisons, FDT synchronization of the considered CNs is also presented by designing FDT fuzzy controller. Numerical examples are given to illustrate our new results

    Comparative performance of complex-valued B-spline and polynomial models applied to iterative frequency-domain decision feedback equalization of Hammerstein channels

    Complex-valued (CV) B-spline neural network approach offers a highly effective means for identifying and inverting practical Hammerstein systems. Compared with its conventional CV polynomial-based counterpart, a CV B-spline neural network has superior performance in identifying and inverting CV Hammerstein systems, while imposing a similar complexity. This paper reviews the optimality of the CV B-spline neural network approach. Advantages of B-spline neural network approach as compared with the polynomial based modeling approach are extensively discussed, and the effectiveness of the CV neural network-based approach is demonstrated in a real-world application. More specifically, we evaluate the comparative performance of the CV B-spline and polynomial-based approaches for the nonlinear iterative frequency-domain decision feedback equalization (NIFDDFE) of single-carrier Hammerstein channels. Our results confirm the superior performance of the CV B-spline-based NIFDDFE over its CV polynomial-based counterpart

    Finite-time synchronization of Markovian neural networks with proportional delays and discontinuous activations

    In this paper, finite-time synchronization of neural networks (NNs) with discontinuous activation functions (DAFs), Markovian switching, and proportional delays is studied in the framework of Filippov solution. Since proportional delay is unbounded and different from infinite-time distributed delay and classical finite-time analytical techniques are not applicable anymore, new 1-norm analytical techniques are developed. Controllers with and without the sign function are designed to overcome the effects of the uncertainties induced by Filippov solutions and further synchronize the considered NNs in a finite time. By designing new Lyapunov functionals and using M-matrix method, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee that the considered NNs realize synchronization in a settling time without introducing any free parameters. It is shown that, though the proportional delay can be unbounded, complete synchronization can still be realized, and the settling time can be explicitly estimated. Moreover, it is discovered that controllers with sign function can reduce the control gains, while controllers without the sign function can overcome chattering phenomenon. Finally, numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness of theoretical results

    New Methods of Finite-Time Synchronization for a Class of Fractional-Order Delayed Neural Networks

    Finite-time synchronization for a class of fractional-order delayed neural networks with fractional order α, 0<α≤1/2 and 1/2<α<1, is investigated in this paper. Through the use of Hölder inequality, generalized Bernoulli inequality, and inequality skills, two sufficient conditions are considered to ensure synchronization of fractional-order delayed neural networks in a finite-time interval. Numerical example is given to verify the feasibility of the theoretical results

    Distributed fault estimation with randomly occurring uncertainties over sensor networks

    This paper is concerned with the distributed fault estimation problem for a class of uncertain stochastic systems over sensor networks. The norm-bounded uncertainty enters into the system in a random way governed by a set of Bernoulli distributed white sequence. The purpose of the addressed problem is to design distributed fault estimators, via available output measurements from not only the individual sensor, but also its neighbouring sensors, such that the fault estimation error converges to zero exponentially in the mean square while the disturbance rejection attenuation is constrained to a give level by means of the H∞ performance index. Intensive stochastic analysis is carried out to obtain sufficient conditions for ensuring the exponential stability as well as prescribed H∞ performance for the overall estimation error dynamics.
